After some time to rest and unwind, you will begin your exploration of Chennai, formerly known as Madras, the capital of Tamil Nadu. As one of India's four major metropolitan areas, Chennai is located along the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. The city boasts a rich cultural heritage, featuring temples, shrines, forts, and palaces that beautifully merge history with modernity. A guide will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour of significant landmarks, including Fort St. George, the oldest Protestant church, St. Mary's Church within the fort complex, the High Court Complex, Kapaleswarar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Sri Parthasarathy Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. After freshening up, you will set out to explore popular tourist attractions, including the Shore Temple, an 8th-century temple constructed from granite blocks, the Varaha Cave Temple, a rock-cut cave temple recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Arjuna's Penance, a 7th-century monument also known as the Descent of Ganges. Following breakfast, we will commence our journey to Thanjavur, renowned for the Great Temples constructed by the Chola dynasty (900-1155 AD), which are now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our first stop will be the Rajarajeswara Temple, also known as the Brihadeswara Temple, which was built by Rajaraja Chola around 1011 AD in honor of Lord Shiva. This temple is the largest and most exquisitely constructed temple in South India, exemplifying rhythm, grace, and dignity. Following this, we will explore the remnants at Paluvur and Gangaikonda Cholapuram, as well as the Veda schools and the bronze casting village.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive to Trichy, also known as Tiruchirappalli, located in central Tamil Nadu. Nestled along the banks of the Cauvery River, this city holds both religious and historical significance. It is characterized by numerous temples, churches, and various must-visit attractions. We will embark on a guided tour, starting with the Ucchi Pillayar Koil temple, dedicated to Lord Vinayaka. The city beautifully blends tradition and modernity, centered around the Rock Fort, which was a key site during the 18th-century conflicts of the Carnatic, amidst the British-French struggle for dominance in India. In addition to the Rock Fort, the city is home to many churches, colleges, and missions dating back to the 1760s. Trichy has also been the birthplace of several eminent Tamil scholars who made significant contributions to Tamil literature.
On the final day of the tour, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in a timely manner to catch your flight to Chennai for your onward journey.
